Father's Day
To the men out there that struggle on Father's Day, my heart goes out to you. I can't begin to imagine what it is like to be a Father and struggling on Father's Day. I am not a man, quite obviously, and yet men can experience such hurt and heartache as well. To the Father's out there that are struggling today, God sees you, God cares about you, and God understands your pain. You do not have to go through the day toughing it out. There are people out there who care about you and who want to be there to support you. Do not let the enemy talk you into thinking that your pain and heartache isn't valid. I wish I could more fully speak on how painful Father's Day is for men, especially those who have abortion in their past. Yet I can't because I am not a man and the things God created me, as a women, for is different. I do not want to dismiss the pain and heartache that those who have lost a father, those who have had a misscarige, those that lost a child, or those who do not have a good relationship with their father. I do not want to dismiss the pain that many people feel on this day because your pain and heartache is valid. Father's Day can be an extremely challenging day and I pray you entend grace towards yourself and allow yourself to feel and experience those emotions.
Specifically to the Father's who have abortion in their past, my heartaches that much more for you. I can only imagine and assume how challenging today is for you. Being a women and created to carry and care for children in different ways than men, I cannot relate to your struggle. For men, when abotion is in your past, there was a failure to proside, provide, and protect your child. God created man to be the leader of the household, to provide for his family and to protect his family at all costs. When abortion is brought in, it goes against the very nature of man. In one single moment, you fail to do that what the Lord has created you for, as a father.
To those who might be drowning in pain today, you are not alone. God is right there with you. Reach out to Him, He can handle your pain, your anger, your disapointmet. He wants to hear from you, ever if all you have are broken words. Father's, today may be challenging and the next and the next, I encourage you, do not give up. The Lord is in the business of redeeming us. He can redeem your story!
I pray that you can feel the Lord close to you today. I pray that if you are in pain, you will reach out to someone.
You do not have to hide your pain. Bring it before the Lord and let Him heal you.
Psalms 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalms 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying, for the old order of things has passed away."
Psalms 6 "Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. Among the dead no one proclaims you name. Who praises you from the grave? I am worn out from my groaning. All nigh long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. Away from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and be put to shame."
